Simple Little Usenet Test ("SLUT") is a program to test usenet newsgroup servers. It's primarily intended to be used as a way to verify that your account details are correct and/or to diagnose what goes wrong when a problem occurs. You type in three pieces of information: news server name, user name, and password. The software will then connect to your news server and perform a few simple operations such as logging on, downloading headers, and downloading a test message. Freeware.
